How to Use the Free Trial
What you can do in trial mode, what the limits are, and how to upgrade to a full license.
StringLane starts in trial mode on first launch — no sign-up, no credit card, no time limit. The trial lets you use the core editor to evaluate whether StringLane fits your workflow.

Trial limits in practice
100-key limit: if your project has more than 100 keys, only the first 100 are shown and editable. The rest are greyed out with a "Requires license" label.
AI translation: ✨ buttons are visible but disabled. Clicking one shows the license activation prompt.
Upgrading to a full license
- Click any disabled AI button, or go to StringLane → License
- Click Buy License — you're taken to stringlane.app/download
- Complete the purchase and receive your key by email
- Return to StringLane → License → enter your key → Activate
All 100-key restrictions lift immediately. Projects that were loading only the first 100 keys will reload with all keys visible.
No trial expiry
The trial doesn't expire. You can use it as long as you want within the stated limits. There's no pressure to upgrade — buy when it's right for your project.
